How to Install

Step One: Prepare the Surface If the surface is dirty, clean the area where you will be attaching your Saying with ordinary household cleaner.  Rinse and dry the surface completely.  Note: Please wait ten days after painting before applying. This will ensure the paint has had enough time to cure and will not be affected by the transfer of your Saying.

Step Two: Prepare the Words Most quotes will come in rolls because of the length.  Each quote will have transfer tape (looks and feels like masking tape) on one side and the backing (white and shiny) on the other.  To ensure the letters have not come detached from the transfer tape during shipping, lay the quote on a flat surface and burnish or rub the transfer tape to ensure the letters are solidly attached.

	Step Three: Position the Saying Using a tape measure or ruler and a level, determine the exact location where your Saying will be placed.  The words of your Saying can be cut apart, arranged in rows or put on an angle on walls, windows, doors, mirrors or painted wood furniture.  Once it is positioned, attach the Saying to the surface by applying several pieces of tape to the top of each piece of the Saying.
	Step Four: Apply the Saying to the Surface Using the tape you applied in step three as a hinge, invert the quote to reveal the backing.  As you peel off the backing paper at a 45° angle, the Saying should stay on the transfer tape.  Once you've completely removed the backing, let the Saying gently fall back down where you originally positioned it.  Using a burnisher (sometimes called a squeegee) or other flat edge, firmly rub the entire surface of each character or graphic.  Ensure that any air bubbles have been completely removed from underneath the Saying. Note:  For long Sayings, it will be easier to transfer if you cut it between words into two to three foot sections, while the Saying is taped to the surface.  This way you are dealing with smaller sticky areas as you remove the backing paper and burnish the Saying.
	Step Five: Remove the Transfer Tape After completely burnishing the Saying, remove the tape that you used to position the quote in step three above.  Next, carefully peel back the transfer tape again at a 45° angle to reveal your Saying.  Finally, gently rub your fingers over the characters to ensure they are fully in contact with your surface.  Now stand back and admire your masterpiece.

Removing Your Saying When you are ready for a new Saying or are ready to repaint, the letters of your Saying can be easily removed.  In most cases, you can use your fingernails or tweezers to pull the letters from the surface.  If your Saying has been in place for several years, you may need to use a hairdryer to lightly heat up the letters before you easily peel them off.  Any residue that remains can easily be removed with an adhesive remover that is safe for your surface.
