Q. Can I really install the Saying myself?
A. Yes, you can! The hardest part of the installation, as with any decor, is positioning it correctly. Once positioned, simply apply the Saying to the surface and remove the tape used to aid in transferring the characters. See the complete Installation Instructions for further details. If you have any questions on how to install your Saying, your sales consultant or one of our customer service representatives will be happy to walk you through the installation process.
Q. Can I hire someone to install it for me?
A. Many of our Sales Consultants will install your saying for a fee. If you purchased your Saying from a Consultant, please contact this individual for details, including fees and availability.
Q. How many different pieces of the Saying will there be to install?
A. All the letters in your Saying come prepositioned. Prepositioned means that the letters, words and designs come properly spaced and aligned to make installation easy. Most Sayings will come as a single sheet. However, depending on the character size, number of characters, arrangement of the characters, and number of colors, it may be necessary to break up the Saying into two or more pieces. For example, if you choose a Saying that has one part of the Sayings installed over top of the other (an overlay), you will receive two separate sections of the Saying. However, each character in a section will come prepositioned.
Q. On what types of surfaces can I install my Saying?
A. You can install your Saying onto most smooth and lightly textured surfaces. Windows, mirrors, latex based painted surfaces, wood plaques, most wall papers, etc. are all great places to apply your Sayings. We do not recommend installing it onto surfaces painted with semi-gloss, high gloss or oil based paints, on stained wood (such as paneling), or on surfaces that can easily be removed (velvet wallpaper for example) as your Saying may not adhere properly or may not be removed without causing damage to the surface. If you question whether the surface you have selected for your Saying will work, please request a sample and try installing and removing the sample from a hidden area of the surface to ensure it will adhere and not damage it. Additionally, it will not adhere well to rough or uneven surfaces like brick and stucco.
Q. How long after I paint should I wait before I install my Saying?
A. We recommend waiting at least 10 days for the paint to cure before installing your Saying.
Q. How long can I store my Saying before installing it?
A. We recommend installing it soon after you receive it. The longer you wait to install it, the more difficult it will be to install. If you have to store it for an extended period of time, do so in the original package it was shipped in and store it in an area that will not be exposed to excessive heat, moisture, sunlight, dust, or chemicals such as gasoline.
